Leave a Gift in Your Will to Charity.

GETTING STARTED

Writing your will is a significant step, but it's more straightforward than it may appear. Simply follow the steps below to ensure your wishes are carried out effectively.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR LOVED ONES

In discussions with your legal adviser, you'll also explore how to ensure your loved ones are well cared for in your will.

WORKING OUT YOUR ASSETS

To prepare your will, calculate the value of your assets and subtract any liabilities, like loans or debts. This process helps determine the net value of your estate.

It's important to remember Inheritance Tax. Inheritance Tax can be payable at the rate of 40% on the value of an estate over £325,000. The exact calculations can be complicated, so it is recommended to seek professional advice if your estate is likely to exceed this amount. Charity gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax and by allocating at least 10% of your estate to charity, you may reduce the Inheritance Tax rate to 36% on the remainder of your estate, while supporting a cause that's important to you.

CHOOSING EXECUTORS

An executor is someone you designate to fulfil the terms of your will. You may choose one or more executors, including friends, family members, or legal professionals. Ensure they are willing and informed about their role. Note that professional executors may charge a fee.

Why Partner with a Charity?

Partnering with a charity like CFDN is not only a gesture of corporate philanthropy but also brings multiple benefits to your business:

  • Enhances Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Modern consumers value not just what a company offers but also its commitment to social responsibilities. Partnering with a charity demonstrates your dedication to societal impact.

  • Boosts Brand Awareness and Public Relations: Supporting a local charity improves public perception of your brand, often leading to enhanced customer loyalty.

  • Improves Employee Engagement and Morale: Corporate partnerships are excellent for boosting team spirit; employees feel proud when their company supports vital community causes.

Supporting Your Commitment to Disability Awareness

As part of our partnership, the Catholic Fellowship Disability Network is proud to offer a unique certification program to businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting people with disabilities. By partnering with us, your business will be awarded a 'Disability Awareness' certificate, recognising your proactive efforts in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for people with disabilities.

This certification not only signifies your dedication but also serves as a mark of distinction that enhances your company’s reputation, making it a more attractive choice for consumers and prospective employees who value inclusivity.

Membership Opportunities for Employees and Customers

Additionally, we offer membership opportunities for your employees and customers who wish to deepen their engagement with the disability community. This membership provides access to resources, training, and support services designed to enhance their understanding and ability to assist individuals with disabilities effectively.

By enabling your workforce and client base to become members, we help you boost your company’s overall commitment to supporting people with disabilities. This initiative not only strengthens your corporate social responsibility efforts but also fosters a more inclusive community both within and outside your organisation.

Together, these offerings from the Catholic Fellowship Disability Network will help position your business as a leader in disability support and awareness, contributing positively to your brand’s social impact and community engagement.
