It runs bi-weekly and has attracted a good number of people whilst encouraging new friendships, promoting independence and promoting opportunities within society.

Adventure Days

Our adventure days at Lambourne End Centre for Outdoor Learning are a true highlight of our year with activities for all of the families of all ages. From ropes course to swimming and artchery too. The feedback from families highlighted the joy of being around likeminded families sharing advice, support and friendship.

With music, entertainment and a few nibbles, our BBQs and Disco nights really do attract a large number of our members giving the whole family an opportunity to have some fun, meet new people and be supported by a community of people that understand the difficulties often faced in social occasions.

As the Chair of this amazing group, I want to extend a warm welcome to both new and current members. It is a privilege to be part of a community that puts inclusion and support at the heart of everything we do in supporting individuals living with disabilities and their families.

One of the things I love most about the Catholic Fellowship is how we create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, irrespective of their religious backgrounds whilst holding our own faith as a fundamental element in delivering our service.

I cherish the way we support and help our families through the activities, events, social groups and community which we provide. I also find it heartwarming how we actively include and value the siblings of those living with a disability, making sure everyone feels equally important and part of the community.

Meeting new members and engaging with new volunteers is a true joy for me. It’s amazing to see the enthusiasm and energy that new people bring to the organisation, and how everyone works together to create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

We continue to provide engaging activities for the entire family, from discos and barbecues to thrill-seeking outdoor activities at the Lambourne End Centre and family trips to the seaside. Not forgetting our quiz nights which are always a highlight. I cannot forget to mention our pub nights which provide an opportunity for young and older adults to regularly meet up and be socially interactive within a safe space in the community.  It is inspiring to see how all of these activities are supported by our dedicated team of volunteers, our community, parishes and members or friends of the Catholic Fellowship.

It is truly remarkable that the Catholic Fellowship has been in existence for over 57 years, with members (including myself) who have been part of it since its infancy. This is a testament to its founders and supporters thus far.

I have personally met so many friends over the years, some of whom have moved away from the Fellowship but continue to support the mission. It's heart-warming to see the relationships that have formed, and the positive impact the Fellowship has on the lives of those who participate.

Each year we look forward to continuing to grow and maintain our mission in supporting individuals and their families.
